It's Your Life

Greetings,

This is a miraculous day that has combined “April Fool’s Day” with “Easter (Resurrection) Day”. This is a wonderful opportunity to process the variety of culture/ heritage in our community and our country. Typically, we would be considering 2 different types of people on 2 different types of days for different reasons. These populations definitely overlap but most are not separated by race, ethnicity, or gender but by values and beliefs.

For my fellow Christian believers, take this moment to acknowledge all the surprises that God has presented to you from the Resurrection to peaks and blessings scattered throughout your life. Not into the whole church/ God thing? There is still tons of positive surprises that not only have you given but have received. No, it doesn’t always “feel” like you have tons of positive things to have you overflowed with gratitude regardless of religion. However, I always remind people that feelings are not facts. Feelings change quicker then this Cincinnati weather! (You know it’s supposed to snow tonight, right?) So, I encourage everyone to journal.

Wait, wait, hold on one second! Be for you go running for hills, let me explain. I do not mean a deep theoretical thesis of your day but just a few lines about your positive experiences in a notebook. If MXLLSyou don’t like to write, pop the date and what happened on stick note and throw it in a bottle or box. (For example: chick in front at Starbucks bought my coffee, scored free frappe- 04/01/18: then you’re done). What’s the point? This really helps when things are not so positive and bright to look at them for a reminded that “EVERYTHING” isn’t “ALWAYS” doom and gloom. Yep, that note would be great on the days when Starbucks isn’t in the budget or in the time schedule. Also, an attitude of gratitude sets you up to hear others story. Yes, we need to be connected and hear others (details in future blog). Everyone has their own story just as you have yours but from a different perspective within their own unique life. True, they are different and not like you but there is still enough room for us all to come together, celebrate together, rejoice and love as one!
